THE CHALLENGE
Too big to scaffold, too busy to wait.
Stadiums and arenas present unique challenges: massive surface areas that take significant time and manpower to clean, limited access to the windows, height and safety constraints, and a schedule driven by events. Scaffolding, rope access and bulky lifts can be costly, slow and high-risk.
Then there is security. Stadium work takes more than flight skills: constant communication with stadium security and strict adherence to sensitive site protocols, under the flight restrictions that cover a stadium.
Our answer is one integrated aerial and ground approach. Drones do the height. For the rest we bring proven ground equipment: water-fed poles, lifts and traditional access when a job calls for them.

THE STADIUM JOB
A decade of soot, off glass and metal.
The stadium had not had a detailed exterior cleaning in more than a decade. Exhaust soot sat on glass curtain walls and angled metal facades that rise over 90 feet, and the job had to pass the venue's security screening and work around the flight restrictions that cover a stadium.
We cleaned the sooted metal sills and the glass in the same passes, reclaimed the dirty runoff to Denver's city requirements, and finished two days ahead of schedule.

Before the first flight we assess the site and set the flight days around your event calendar, clear of the stadium's flight restrictions.
SECURITY
Clear the screening
We go through the venue's security screening and coordinate directly with local authorities before anything leaves the ground, as we did at Empower Field at Mile High.
LIFT-OFF
Water up the tether
We set a safety perimeter and stage the water filtration. Then a tethered hose carries water and cleaning solution from our rig on the ground up to the drone, which sprays from about ten feet away.
THE RINSE
Glass, sills and metal
The aircraft works the glass, the sills and the metal facades in precise patterns, and finishes with a rinse of purified water that dries spot-free.

QUESTIONS
Straight answers, before you call.
Can you fly at a stadium, with its flight restrictions?
Yes, outside the event windows. The FAA bars drones within three nautical miles of a stadium from one hour before to one hour after the scheduled time of NFL, MLB and NCAA Division One football games and listed motor-racing events, so we set the flight days around your calendar and coordinate with stadium security and local authorities before anything leaves the ground.
Do you need roof access, and will you disrupt operations?
In most cases roof access is not required. We fly from the ground, which keeps disruption to building operations to a minimum, and we review the site in advance to settle staging and access.
What can you clean on a stadium or arena?
Windows, facades, metal sills, seating structures, signage and architectural elements, from the air. Where a job calls for it, our ground crews add water-fed poles, lifts and traditional access. Glass with heavy mineral staining is the exception: it may need restoration first, by rope access or traditional methods.
Where does the runoff go?
Where city or state rules require it, we reclaim and dispose of the wastewater. Whenever possible we clean with purified water only, which is how we keep the environmental impact down.
How high can you clean?
Discuss your venue's height and access with a project manager so we can plan the cleaning method around your building.
Can you clean a stadium in winter?
Yes, under the right conditions. We work above about 42 degrees Fahrenheit with heated purified water, scheduled in safe temperature windows, and we postpone when freezing makes cleaning unsafe or ineffective.
