THE CHALLENGE
A decade of exhaust, and a deadline.
Empower Field at Mile High had not had a detailed exterior cleaning in more than a decade, and exhaust soot and dirt had built up on its glass curtain walls and angled metal facades, which rise over 90 feet.
Standard solutions were ruled out by their size, their slow deployment and the risk of people working at height.
A stadium is also a secure site. The job had to pass the venue's security screening and work around the flight restrictions that cover a stadium.

We were selected because we could clean the exterior without putting people at height.
PRE-FLIGHT
Pass the screening
Before anything left the ground, we cleared the stadium's security screenings and coordinated directly with local authorities on the drone operation.
IN THE AIR
Sills and glass together
Our aircraft cleaned the metal window sills, black with soot and dirt, and the windows at the same time, so one approach covered the whole exterior.
ON THE GROUND
Reclaim the runoff
We reclaimed the dirty runoff water as we went, as Denver's city requirements call for.
THE RESULTS
Two days ahead of schedule.
We finished two days faster than projected, moving quickly across the stadium's 90-foot facades and removing the majority of the heavy soot and dirt.
The metal and the windows came out clear and shiny, a finish you can see from far away.
