Pressure washing or soft washing: which is better?
For most building exteriors, a soft wash is the safer choice. High pressure earns its place on brick, concrete and stubborn buildup, and we match the method to every surface we clean.

THE SHORT ANSWER
Soft for delicate, pressure for hard.
For most building exteriors, soft washing is the safer and more effective choice. Pressure washing is the tool for tougher jobs on surfaces that are not delicate, and for heavy buildup such as old bird droppings.
On a building with glass, painted panels and masonry, that can mean both methods on one job. We set the method surface by surface, and the plan names it for each surface before the first flight.
DRONE SOFT WASHING
Gentle on the surface, hard on the grime.
Soft washing is a low-pressure method that relies on specialized nozzles and a diluted cleaning solution.
The solution takes off pollen, dirt, bird droppings, spider webs and salt buildup. We use it on windows, solar panels, roofs, facades and siding.
With no harsh scrubbing and no high-pressure water, a soft wash leaves delicate materials clean without etching or scratching them. How it works, step by step, is in our soft washing guide.
DRONE PRESSURE WASHING
Tough on stubborn debris.
Pressure washing drones are built for heavy-duty cleaning that needs a high-pressure stream. Our high-pressure washing runs up to 4,000 psi, for masonry, concrete and industrial surfaces.
It is the method for brick walls, concrete, pavement and tough, dried-on debris. Unlike a soft wash, it relies on force rather than a cleaning solution, which makes it simpler but less versatile.
On hard surfaces it is highly effective. On more fragile materials like glass, painted surfaces or certain metals, high pressure can do damage, and misused, it can leave visible etching or force water where it does not belong.
WHEN IT'S BAKED ON
Soot and old droppings need heat.
Bird droppings and exhaust soot bake on, into buildup that cold water cannot dissolve. On stains like these we bring heated water, between 100°F and 220°F with steam-assisted applications, plus adjusted pressure and FoamStream, our own cleaning system, then finish with a purified rinse.

What takes off old, baked-on bird droppings?
Fresh droppings come off in a soft wash. Old, baked-on droppings are tougher: that is where adjusted pressure earns its place, with heated water and FoamStream on glass, before a purified rinse.
Is the same drone used for both methods?
Not always. A soft wash drone is not designed for high pressure or heavy hoses, while a pressure wash drone can handle the stress of a high-pressure pump and a heavier hose. We bring the aircraft and the rig the plan for your building calls for.
